PLAK-IT – Laminating

What is a Plak?

Plak-It products are an affordable alternative to traditional framing, designed to enhance the look of your print, and permanently protects them from fading and scratches. Attractive, sleek and frameless, you can display your certificates and awards, mount maps on your wall, create signage for ships, ID cards for your staff, and show off your artwork and photos for yourself or your clients.

We dry-mount your print or document to a specially-selected custom-cut wood, and laminate it with a non-glare transparent laminate. The pressure applied during this process results in a tough, durable easy-to-clean finish. Plak-It® plakmounts also come in a variety of edge colours.

Types of Plaks

Plakmount

Your print is mounted onto 3/8-inch MDF (pressed wood), then protected by a non-glare laminate. The edges of the plak are finished in a variety of colours, slotted on the back, and ready to hang.

Min. Size: 5-inches x 5-inches
Max. Size: 48-inches x 96-inches

Plak-Matted

Your print is mounted onto 3/8-inches MDF (pressed wood), then protected by a non-glare laminate. Single or double matted, from a selection of 20 different matt colours, which can be used as either border or trim.

Trim is a standard 3/16-inches. A Standard Boarder size is 1 ½-inches all arount the print and trim, or can be as small as ½-inch. The edges are finished in a variety of colours, and comes slotted on the back, ready to hang.

Floatmount

The print is mounted onto 1/8-inch masonite, then protected by a non-glare laminate. A 3/4-inch box frame, smaller than the Masonite, is centred on the back to give the illusion that the masonite is floating about an inch from the wall.

The edges of the masonite are finished in a variety of colours and comes ready to hang. Floatmounts can also be matted.

Flushmount

Your print is mounted onto 1/8-inch masonite, then protected by a non-glare laminate. A 3/4-inches box frame is mounted on the back of the masonite flush with the outside edges. The edges are finished in a variety of colours and comes ready to hang. Flushmounts can also be matted.

Masonite

Your print is mounted onto 1/8-inch masonite, then protected by a non-glare laminate. The edges of the masonite are cut square; and can be beveled, coloured, and matted for an additional feed. Available in the same edge colours as other products. Masonite is thinner and lighter for a sleeker look, and thin enough to fit into a standard frame!
