Orangutan Mother and Baby

Orangutans are the only great apes of Asia, found in Southeast Asia on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. In Malay orang means “person” and utan is derived from hutan, which means “forest.” Thus, orangutan literally means “person of the forest.”
